Bailie Blackburn is the owner of Cobalt Hair Apothecary in Scottsdale, AZ. She is a satisfied client of The Grapevine Group. At The Grapevine Group we believe in service beyond the sale, we care about our clients. We believe buying or selling a home is more than just a sale, it's about guiding our clients to make the best decision possible and helping in all aspects of their lives. We love seeing our clients happy and are excited to feature Bailie's incredible salon!

Cobalt Hair Apothecary

Bailie is a talented and skilled hair stylist who has always had a passion for the beauty industry. She got her first mannequin head and began styling hair at the age of three! Bailie worked at another salon for many years before opening her own business, Cobalt Hair Apothecary. She has always been passionate about one day opening her own salon, and since it's opening it has become one of the best hair salons in Scottsdale, earning a 5 ⭐️ rating on Yelp and Facebook!

We had the opportunity to sit down with Bailie and learn all about Cobalt Hair Apothecary. It all began when one of her happy clients encouraged her to open her own business. She had already been thinking about opening her own salon and felt this was a sign it was meant to be. More and more of her clients encouraged her. She was passionate about opening a salon and making it exactly what she wanted, a local business that provides care and quality.

"One day while I was working at another salon, I had a client say "Bailie, you need to start your own business." This was pretty funny since I had already been thinking it....maybe I was sending out energy because I felt like he was reading my mind. Then more and more of my clients encouraged me to start my own business. I have always wanted to have my own salon. So I just held my breath and made the jump!" - Bailie

Like any business owner, when the salon first opened she was nervous and excited.

"When I first opened the salon it was a mix of emotions. I would go from excited to nervous, then scared out of my mind, but I knew whenever you make a jump like that it's going to be scary, and I think it should be scary. If it doesn't scare you, you are not thinking big enough."

Bailie made it her mission to meet as many people as she could to spread the word about her salon and increase business. She knew the importance of branding her business, and learned how to brand it well. Bailie used social media to promote her business and new clients began scheduling appointments and sharing their wonderful experiences with their friends and family. Before she knew it, her business quickly grew into what it is today. A very successful business, and one of the best rated salons in Scottsdale!

"Every time I felt nervous about the business a wave of peace came over me. I knew that this is what I wanted to do. I was either going to sink or swim, and the fact was, I knew I was a good swimmer."

What makes her clients happy? Her incredible work! Keeping up with the latest trends is of upmost importance to Bailie, and it shows.

"I love the beauty industry and how it's always changing. I am fascinated by color and creative places to pull inspiration from. I consider coloring hair my way of creating art. I specialize in color formulating. I love color and cutting. I keep on my toes with continuing education, taking classes on everything from Balayage to new current products."

Her dream was to open a local salon that provides care and quality. She has accomplished just that. She is known for being very personable and really getting to know her clients. That's how she is able to make such great suggestions for each of them.

"I really get to know my clients. They have become my friends and they are very important to me. I get to know them and that is where the magic happens. I can suggest different styles and they can trust my opinion."

"I love to see my clients smiling and taking pictures of themselves and showing off their new hairstyle. I love to get the text after their appointment about how much they love their hair. That is why I do what I do."

Visiting Cobalt Hair Apothecary gives you a relaxing escape. Making people look and feel beautiful is what drives her passion.

"My favorite experience is when someone gets to see themselves different. I don't like to say I make them beautiful because the truth is they are already beautiful. They get to come in and get pampered for a few hours. They can't go anywhere or fix anything because they are in my chair, people tend to take that time for themselves. I love to see that."

There are three other stylists at Cobalt Hair Apothecary, Sarah Hudson, Haidyn Miller, and Priscilla Villages. Bailie individually reached out and selected these three stylists to work at her salon because they are incredibly talented stylists she trusts, and wonderful woman. Even though they all have separate clients, they work as a great team. Having your hair done with any of the stylists at Cobalt Hair Apothecary is sure to be a wonderful experience.

"At Cobalt we see ourselves as a hair apothecary; looking for the best techniques and ingredients to heal, and restore the life back in your hair. Apothecaries have been around dating back to 2600 BC using old world craftsmanship, herbs, and elixirs to heal patients. We believe trendsetting styles and beautiful color begins with healthy hair. Simple as that."
