Fountain Hills has many Parks, Trails and Adventures to be had by all! From beginner to expert, you can find the right park and the right trail for you.

Fountain Park

Home of our town namesake, Fountain Park offers a lit 1.3 mile walkway around the Fountain for your walking pleasure. Also home to an 18 hole disc golf course, a children's park and a brand new music park are all part of Fountain Park that has something to offer people of all ages. So pack a lunch and come experience all that Fountain Park has to offer. 

Golden Eagle Park

A 25 acre park located next to Fountain Hills High school, is home to many leagues and activities throughout the year. Basketball, tennis courts as well as a sand volleyball court offer opportunities for league play as well as pick up games. Two children's parks as well as three baseball fields that are home to the Fountain Hills Little League are found at Golden Eagle Park. So come join a league and play at Golden Eagle Park.

Desert Vista Park

Home of Fountain Hills Skate park and Dog park, Desert Vista Park is also home to soccer fields which are home of Fountain Hills Soccer Club. Some of Fountain Hills most amenities are housed at Desert Vista which under went recent renovation. Bring your beloved dog and enjoy some of the best that Fountain Hills has to offer.

If hiking is more your style, Fountain Hills has several trails that offer wonderful views and exciting artifacts. 

McDowell Mountain Regional Park

A Maricopa County Park located near Fountain Hills, McDowell Mountain Regional Park offers 50 mixed use trails that range from beginner to difficult. Hikers will have the opportunity to view wildlife such as Birds, Javelina and Coyotes as well as spectacular views of McDowell Mountain. 

Year round recreational activities are available though the visitors centers so you can find something that will catch your interest. Midnight hikes, mountain biking and critter flashlight "hunts" are just some of the adventures offered by the visitors center.  

McDowell Mountain Regional Park is a fee/permitted use only. The fee can be paid at the visitors center or buy a year pass and use it at any Maricopa County Park. 

Tonto National Forest

A national park located just outside of Fountain Hills offers 3 million acres of beautiful views. Fifth largest forest in the country and most visited forest in the nation. From a Saguaro Cactus desert to Pine Forest mountains, you really can find your hearts desire at Tonto National Forest. Salt and Verde rivers flow into six man made lakes all located within the forest. Hiking, fishing, and camping can all be done here.  

Lakes are stocked on a regular basis so fishermen of all levels can get a record "catch" here. A fee/permitted use only area, you can find permits sold at most convenience stores as well as ranger stations. 

Eight wilderness areas offer wildlife watching for all. The forest is filled with areas for picnicking and driving trails. Not only can you find nature in Tonto National Forest but you will also find several Indian Reservation communities. 

White Mountain and San Carlos Apache Reservation to the east, Tonto Apache Reservation located in Payson and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Reservation located on the South west edge of the forest all offer different experiences from Casinos to historical sites.  You can spend ages exploring the forest and always find something new. So come explore Tonto National Forest and get in-touch with nature!
